PM Pakistan Empowering the Backbone of Pakistan: Honoring Our Nation's Hardworking Labor Force

The Voice of the Toiling Masses

This verse echoes the cries of millions, nay, billions of hardworking individuals in this country, whose voices cannot be better expressed. This powerful message is the clarion call of the laborers, the backbone of our nation, whose contributions are the driving force behind Pakistan's progress and prosperity.

The Struggle for Justice and Dignity

The May Day movement, which originated in Chicago, has now become a global phenomenon, with the entire world celebrating this day in honor of the working class. However, the directives given in the Holy Quran and the exemplary teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) regarding the sanctity of labor and trust hold the true essence of life for all of us.

The Plight of the Common Man

The harsh reality is that the common man's life has become increasingly difficult due to the ever-rising inflation. Although there has been a recent decrease in the prices of diesel and oil, this reduction does not alleviate the burden of the overall cost of living that the average citizen faces daily. From providing education and uniforms for their children to securing medical care for their sick loved ones, the working-class individual struggles to make ends meet despite their tireless efforts.

The Call for Equity and Justice

The teachings of the Holy Quran and the guidance of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) demand that we bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. If the affluent and the business community prosper through their hard work and create wealth, then it is the inherent duty of our faith that they rightfully share this bounty with those who, despite their tireless efforts, lack the means to provide for their families and secure a better future for their children.

The Symbiotic Relationship between Capital and Labor

I believe that in every factory, every shop, every shopping mall, and every business office, the relationship between capital and labor is akin to the two wheels of a cart. If one wheel moves swiftly while the other lags behind, the cart cannot reach its intended destination. Similarly, the prosperity of this nation is contingent upon the harmonious collaboration between the owners of capital and the hardworking laborers who toil tirelessly to create that wealth.

A Vision for a Prosperous Pakistan

As the Chief Minister of Punjab, I am here to assure you that despite the immense challenges faced by our country, we are working tirelessly, day and night, to bring about a transformative change that will ensure Pakistan's progress and prosperity. We are leaving no stone unturned to recover the billions, nay, trillions of rupees that have been lost to corruption and mismanagement, so that these resources can be channeled towards the betterment of our people.

Empowering the Marginalized

In the previous budget, despite the numerous difficulties, we were able to increase the minimum wage for government employees. In the upcoming budget, we will make every effort to further enhance this, while also reducing unnecessary expenditures. Additionally, you may recall that during my tenure as the Chief Minister of Punjab, we distributed thousands of laptops to the children of the common man, not the affluent, enabling them to pursue their educational aspirations regardless of their socioeconomic background.

Securing a Brighter Future

We have also provided free educational opportunities, healthcare, and cancer treatment to countless individuals through the Punjab Education Endowment Fund and other initiatives. This is not a Pakistan meant solely for the rich; it is a Pakistan that belongs to each and every citizen, be they the wealthy, the poor, the orphans, or the physically challenged. When we come together to build this nation through our collective efforts, there will be no distinction between the privileged and the underprivileged. We will all stand united, shoulder to shoulder, as true Pakistanis, fulfilling the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

A Solemn Pledge

I conclude my remarks with the powerful words of Allama Iqbal: "Tamanna-e ābru kī hai agar gulzār-e hastī meṉ, to kāṉṭhoṉ meṉ uljh kar zindagī karne kī khū kar le." I assure you that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, we will leave no effort untapped to uplift the lives of our hardworking brothers and sisters, ensuring that their children receive the education, healthcare, and opportunities they deserve, so that Pakistan can truly become the prosperous and thriving nation envisioned by our forefathers. Thank you, and may Allah bless us all.
